What is the Zipcar Rewards beta program, and how does it work?
Zipcar Rewards is a beta program in which our standard membership has been pre-enrolled to earn discounts on future trips. For every $250 spent on eligible bookings—including driving rates and mileage but excluding taxes, tolls, ancillary fees, late returns, and violations—you’ll receive $5 in rewards.
Who qualifies for the Zipcar Rewards beta program?
Zipcar Rewards is currently in beta and available to our standard membership only. If you're part of the beta, you'll see a 'Rewards' tab in your account overview or on the Zipcar App navigation bar.

Can I still earn rewards when I use a reward on a trip?
Yes, if your trip cost is more than the reward redemption you may be able to earn rewards on a trip in which you use a reward. In example, if your trip cost is $50 before taxes and fees and you redeem $45 in rewards you would earn $5 spend toward your next reward.
Which charges count toward earning Zipcar Rewards?
Only driving rates and mileage charges count toward earning Zipcar Rewards. Other fees and charges do not qualify. Rewards will not be earned for trips that violate community rules—such as returning late, leaving low fuel, or not maintaining interior cleanliness.

Can I combine my rewards with other promotions or discounts?
At this time, rewards cannot be combined with promotions or discounts that require a promo code at checkout.
Do my rewards ever expire?
Redeemed Rewards: Once you redeem a reward, it must be used within 30 days.
Earned Rewards: Your reward balance expires 12 months after your most recently earned reward. For example, if you earned $5 in February and another $5 in March, the full $10 expires in March of the following year. If you earn more later, your expiration date extends accordingly.
Rewards Progress: If you don’t take a trip for 12 months, your progress toward earning rewards will reset. Taking at least one trip a year keeps your progress active.
Where can I check my rewards balance and available offers?
You can check your reward balance on the Mobile App or Website.
To check your rewards in the Zipcar mobile app: Open the app and sign in to your account. You'll see a 'Rewards' tab at the bottom of the screen. Tap it to view details about your rewards, including pending, earned, and redeemed amounts.
To check your rewards on the Zipcar website: Log in to your account and look for the small 'Rewards' icon next to your account icon in the top right corner of the homepage. Click it to view your pending, earned, and redeemed rewards.
To check your rewards on the Zipcar mobile website: Sign in to your account and tap the menu icon in the top-left corner of the screen. A menu will pop up, and you’ll see the “Rewards” option, where you can view any available rewards.
How do I use or redeem my Zipcar rewards?
You can redeem your Zipcar rewards either from your Rewards page or during checkout.
To redeem at checkout:
- Select “Add Promo or reward” during the checkout process.
- Your available dollar-off reward will appear—select “Redeem.”
- A confirmation prompt will appear. Select “Redeem and Apply” to use the reward for your booking. If you've already redeemed the reward, simply choose “Apply” to add the discount to your reservation.
- You’ll see confirmation that the reward has been applied on the Promotions and Rewards page.
- Click “Done” to return to checkout and complete your booking.
To redeem on your rewards page:
- On your Rewards page, click the "Redeem" button next to your total earned rewards.
- A prompt will appear asking if you'd like to redeem your rewards and proceed with booking by selecting “Redeem & Book”.
- You’ll be directed to the search page to choose a car and time that best fits your needs.
- Your rewards will be automatically applied at checkout, so there's nothing you need to do—just book and enjoy the savings.
